Luigi Zoja, the president ofIAA then, said in his greetings for the conference: “ It gives me immensepleasure to send you a message of greeting and support on this historicoccasion. Jungian psychology has had a long and respectful relationship withChina and its culture, and I am sure that Professor Jung himself would havebeen exceeding gratified to learn of the existence of such a conference asyours.”


Christa Robinson, the president of the EranosFoundation, wrote to the conference: “Dreams are never our property only, but theyconnect us to peoples and nations and on a deeper archetypal level to humanityas a whole. So this congress is also a unique occasion that may open us toexperience of universal interconnections. On this basis real meeting occursbetween people and understanding crosses the gaps that may separate us.”


Murray Stein, president-elect of IAAP then, sent hisgreetings to the conference: “I hope this will be the first of a long anddistinguished series of similar conferences. Certainly Western psychology hasbeen greatly enriched by Chinese thought already, and it is my hope that thedialogue you are inaugurating here during this timely conference will show theway forward to much greater and deeper mutual understanding and influence inthe future.”
